Core Advantages of Hybrid Inspection

Hybrid Inspection integrates the advantages of single sampling, double sampling and full inspection. It dynamically adjusts the inspection method according to the actual situation (according to actual quantity, and the different problems on-site finding), which not only avoids the waste of full inspection cost, but also solves the problem of incomplete quality control caused by simple random sampling. It has proven a highly effective solution for small-batch garment orders with strict quality requirements.

Why is Hybrid Inspection Needed?

For small-batch orders with strict quality requirements, traditional inspection methods have obvious limitations.
For example, there is a small order includes 3 styles with a total of 600 pieces (200 pieces per style):

  • If we inspect all 600 pieces as a single lot under AQL 2.5, maximum 5 major defects are allowed. For example all the major defects are holes.

  • If we inspect each style separately (200 pieces per style), AQL 2.5 allows 2 major defects each lot. It means 6 pcs with holes are allowed in total.

This would likely lead to 5 to 6 customer complaints and returns after the goods are sold, which is unacceptable for brand development.

However, implementing a 100% full inspection is not feasible: it is clear that 600 garments cannot be inspected within one man-day; instead, it would require approximately three man-days of work, a cost that most clients cannot afford.

To address this pain point, we have developed Hybrid Inspection through extensive practical experience and inspections. This method can effectively reduce the defect level mentioned above, and has been proven quite useful for many designer brands, such as Michael Kors, Ulla Johnson, Apiece Apart, CO, Jenni Kayne, Carlisle / Etcetera, Zimmermann, and etc.
